Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is an excellent option for patients with
excessive dark hair, and any part of the body can be treated. Pigment in the hair follicle absorbs the laser energy, which causes it to shed without injuring the surrounding skin. A series of laser treatments can reduce hair density and coarseness for years. Adverse effects are rare and usually temporary, but, in
the wrong hands, the risk of blistering, scarring, or pigment changes can be very high. Ask the supervising physician about his/her training and experience. Make sure your doctor knows how to prevent and manage complications and is keeping up to date with the science. Remember, there are no laws in Maryland ensuring that your laser practitioner is appropriately trained.
